Sharing the Good News
We've been celebrating Pentecost in Rowan class. We learnt a song with actions to perform at our Pentecost party and wrote our own special prayer about friendship.
We've been learning all about the coming of the Holy Spirit and how the Disciples were able to share the Good News. Below is our retelling of the events:
1. The disciples were sad that Jesus had to die on the cross, but surprised and delighted when He returned to them. "Peace be with you," said Jesus. He was hungry so they ate some fish.
2. 40 days after his return, Jesus had to ascend back to Heaven. The Disciples were again sad. "Don't worry," said Jesus, "the Holy Spirit will come to guide you."
3. Just as Jesus had promised, the Holy Spirit came to the disciples. It appeared as flames above their heads.
4. The Disciples found that they could speak in many languages and they were not afraid any more. They went out to the public to spread the Good News. The Church was born!
We hope that you have had a happy Pentecost however you have celebrated!
