Holly and Cherry class children have developed a real love for reading during their child-initiated learning time. Some have chosen to look at books related to our current theme 'Transport' and share their knowledge of vehicles. Lots of children choose to sit in our reading hut and share familiar stories together. We also have maps in our continuous provision to encourage positional vocabulary and generate a desire for the children to create their own maps. Our tricky word magnetic fishing game has also been very popular and is developing tricky word knowledge! 

The children are now able to identify sounds whilst looking at books and enjoy supporting each other with their knowledge and skills whilst sharing books.
