Powerful Voices
This half-term the children have been busy learning about significant people from the past and present who peacefully protested to make the lives of others better. We travelled to India to learn about Gandhi's peaceful protests, learnt about Martin Luther King and Rosa Park's fight for equal rights. The children also enjoyed learning about Malala and her fight for girls' right to an education and Greta Thunberg's fight for our environment. We built schools from lego, painted peace symbols and developed our map skills by locating India, Pakistan and Sweden on a map. The children's creativity really shone through when using loose parts to retell the story of some of the influential people we were learning about.
