World Bee Day
The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about and celebrating bees on World Bee Day. We were fortunate to have a talk by a member of staff who is a beekeeper. Paul, our IT technician, shared his journey, knowledge and props with the children to enhance their understanding of the role bees play in our world today. We now have a much clearer understanding of where the phrase 'as busy as a bee' came from! It was wonderful listening to the children buzz about the room using the names of the many different types of bees. Throughout the morning we developed maths skills, story writing, arts and crafts, science and imaginary play. A beeutiful way to spend the last day of term!
