Welcome to Syper Sycamore!

Hello and welcome to Sycamore Class 2020-2021! We’ve had a really good start to the school year; here are some of the things that have been up to…

Super Sycamore Rap: the children made lots of great suggestions about what our class should be like. We turned this into a rap and are now learning it. It should be stuck in their Reading Journals if you’d like a rendition…

Gambia: our new book that we are studying is set in The Gambia. We have been starting to explore its location in the world and what the different settlements are like there. This links to our topic of Planet Protectors as the book explores plastic waste which we started to use during our art collaging this week… (see rather enthusiastic photo below).

In Science, we have started exploring different states of matter and explored particle placement of solids, liquids and gases out in the playground.

In the midst of all our learning, we also took a moment to think about Mary and Walsingham as it was the feast day of Our Lady of Walsingham this Thursday! We reflected on how Mary’s ‘yes’ to God might not have been easy but how it was the right thing to trust God. We then thought of some things that we know are difficult to do but are the RIGHT things to do and wrote them on our stars!
