Preparing To Prepare
This week has found us busy with lots or reading and maths, as well as some art work (inspired by Andy Goldsworthy and Richard Long), some panpipe making with straws and our Advent preparations so that we are ready for the beginning of Advent. We also found time to be calm and prayful, as we thought about people who love us, prayed for them and thought of ways to show that we love them.
Every year we make our own Advent wreath.
Traditionally, the Advent wreath is made only with evergreen foliage, to show God’s unending love for us. To represent ourselves within God’s love, every person in Oak Class has added an Oak twig, budding with new life.
We held a special zoom assembly with Father Christopher and lit our first Advent candle (Prophets who told of hope) in anticipation of our first Sunday in Advent. Our prayer leader carefully held the candle for all of us to see.
Do you have your tree up? Do you use an Advent candle or calendar? What will you take on this year to help prepare for His Coming?
…and one final celebration…well done Oak families, we won the attendance cup AGAIN!
