Overcome with the Spirit!
The last few weeks have been jam packed with lots of busyness! We've been loving reading Oliver and the Seawigs as our English book and have just this week written our own endings, or as one pupil put it, our own 'fan fiction'!
In Maths, we've been making very good progress in telling the time and decimals. This week, we've been lending our hand to tricky practical problems including fractions and decimal lengths of time.
One more final thing of note (although there could be many, many more) is how Sycamore have really stepped up and started contributing and planning their own collective worship sessions. We had a fantastic session earlier in the year about what this might look like and the children really stepped up to the plate and even evaluated their first session together as a class very maturely.
Underneath, there are just a few photos (in no particular order) that bring back some smiles of good memories...
PS - George has worked VERY hard at writing a little piece about Oliver and the Seawigs, which we would like to share it here:
Oliver and the seawigs
The class book we are reading
Oliver has parents who don’t take notice of him. Oliver is moving to Deepwater Bay. He thought he was going to go to school and make friends but he ended up on an island. Oliver meets and albatross called Mr Culpepper who is very selfish. Oliver meets a mermaid called Iris that has bad eye sight.
Then they find something called Cliff. Oliver was encouraging Cliff to go to the Hallowed Shallows because Oliver wanted to win the Hallowed Shallows tournament. Then they saw a big Seawig and it had Stacey de Lacey. Stacey de Lacey has an army of gross seamonkeys and another seawig. Stacey de Lacey wants to take over the Sea!!!!
