Learning to be like Jesus
In our RE lessons we have been learning about growth in nature now that Spring has arrived and relating this to growing to be more like Jesus in our daily lives.
We have talked about the changes in nature now that Spring is here. In the classroom we have had a still life of Spring flowers and the children have enjoyed using pastels to do observational drawings and painting using water colours.
In RE the children have learnt about what is was like for Jesus in the desert during the 40 days and 40 nights of Lent. We talked about how we could grow to be more like Jesus during Lent by giving up something or helping others. Here are some of their comments: "We could give up pizza" "We could give up candy" "we could help get dinner ready"
We often use role play during our RE reflections, and today the children acted out Peter's betrayal when learning about how Jesus forgave others. Then we completed our RE reflection, by enjoying a hot cross bun.
We hope you all enjoy a restful Easter holiday.
