Learning In Action
The children have been using their scientific knowledge to identify if objects in the classroom are metal or not metal using the magnets. The resources have been enhanced further so the children can connect pieces to build magnetic structures.
For World Book Day Mrs Bryan and Mrs Baldwin dressed up as Winnie the Witch and Wilbur her cat so our art has been inspired by the beautiful illustrations in these books. The children have used chalks to refine their drawing technique and explored blending the chalk with their finger to create a different effect.
Transient art is always a favourite with the children. They have been using various objects to create collages and patterns. The children enjoy this activity because they can easily adapt their art. This is a good activity for fine motor development as they have to handle the small objects with care and co-ordination.
We can’t wait to welcome all the children back next week so they can enjoy exploring the activities during child initiated learning.
