Come and Join The Celebration

Hello and welcome to a run down of our penultimate week of term! We hope that you enjoyed our singing this afternoon 🙂

Firstly, thank you for your generosity in your donations for the CAFOD coin collection, the adult and children’s raffles and the non-uniform donations. It is truly appreciated and I am sure will be appreciated by those different groups on the receiving end. Only two more non-uniform days to go next week; are the outfits ready yet?!

We rounded off this week with our annual ‘decorate the classroom morning’ across the school. In Sycamore, we had some chilled out Christmas jazz piano playing as the angels, shepherds and kings busied themselves with creating some cheeky little elves and angels. We also all contributed to a wreath to go on our classroom door to share the joy with the rest of the school too.

In our Jesse Tree reflections this week, we have start to join the dots with some really important people: Rahab (who we loved with her incredible trust and faith and scarlet rope – we now have a red ribbon our our class tree!), Ruth, Jesse… David… The children are contributing to some really good discussions with these daily reflections. These have also carried into RE, where we explored the question: ‘Why should we think about Easter during Advent?’ Their answers were brilliant and their thinking went way beyond anything that even I was expecting. Well done super Sycamore!

Homework: comprehension on Teams (hopefully it won’t vanish this week) and Maths on My Maths. I’ve advised them to draw out their place value columns to help them with this. They should remember what this means! We are nearly there with TTRS and, although it’s been a close week, we seem to edging in front at the moment!
