In Flanders Fields
We had Remembrance Day and this year we did something a little different as a school: we all made our own wreaths and laid them in the Prayer Garden in remembrance of those who made sacrifices to protect those they loved (including those they did not know). As we laid our wreath, we lit a candle, read a prayer together and listened to John McCrae’s famous poem. It was a lovely moment. We also had an assembly and held our two minutes silence at 11am.
We also thought about how we could be lights in the world and keep our ‘lamps’ burning inside of us just like the wise bridesmaids in last Sunday’s Gospel!
