Friends of St Louis

Who are we?

The Friends of St. Louis is the parent body of St. Louis Catholic primary and has been in existence for approximately eight years. All parents of the children who attend the school are automatically a member of the Friends association. Over the years, Friends has raised thousands of pounds which has been spent on improving equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education and the facilities in school in general.

But our Friends is about much, much more than just fund raising. We exist to provide closer links between home and school, and it is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support for the school, working towards a common goal.

We are a registered charity and as such must abide by the charity commission rules and regulations and are bound by a constitution. Our constitution sets out rules about how we operate and how we conduct ourselves.

Fundraising Activities.

The majority of our funds are raised through events we run, for example, Our Christmas Fair, Music nights, Nearly New Sale, Travelling Book Fair and Cake Sales. We have special events like St. Louis Day, which Friends organises and runs for the school.

We also also organise printed calendars, tea towels and Christmas cards for parents and carers to buy. We’ve had fashion shows, a visiting theatre and even produced our own  cookery book. We try to ensure that we constantly have new and exciting ideas to engage both parents and children in the activity – we want to raise money, but it has to be fun.
