PE & Sports Premium Funding

PE & Sport Premium Funding

2014 – 2015

The PE and sport premium is designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils. The Department of Education are spending over £450 million on this funding over the 3 academic years 2013 to 2014, 2014 to 2015 and 2015 to 2016.

Schools receive PE and Sport Premium funding based on the number of pupils in years 1 to 6.

The Education Funding Agency (EFA) determine how many pupils in schools attract the funding by using data from the January 2015 school census.

 Aims

Our main aims are:

  • To provide additional resources to offer additional activities both in school and extra- curricular events.
  • To maintain high expectations and standards for all PE in school.
  • To ensure that all pupils are given the same opportunities to develop their potential and participate in sporting activities in the school.

Achievements

We have achieved an improved focus on PE both in school and at extra-curricular events outside of school.  Through this increased focus our children have excelled at sporting tournaments both locally and at county level.

Whilst the tournaments do not involve all the children, the additional activities that are now on offer are available to all pupils, thereby providing at least one activity that should suit everyone and this in turn will raise the health and fitness of all children.
