Equality Objectives

Equality Objectives

St. Louis Academy is committed to ensuring quality of provision throughout the school community. To do this, our equality objectives 2015 – 2019 are as follows:

  1. To ensure the curriculum reflects inclusion and diversity, and prepares pupils for life in modern Britain. This will be measured by on-going curriculum review by SLT and subject leaders.

  2. To identify the needs of all learners in order to achieve the best possible outcomes. This will be measured by differentiated curricula and work according to the need of the children to promote individual progress.

  3. To promote an ethos and culture in the school in which everyone is welcomed and respected as individuals. This will be measured by the effectiveness of the planned SMSC curriculum and by regular stakeholder feedback.

  4. To ensure that staff recruitment complies with the Equality Act and that all staff are aware of and follow the school’s Equality Policy. This will be measured by reviewing the policy on a timely basis, effective staff induction and on-going CPD.

  5. To ensure that discriminatory behaviour is not tolerated by any stakeholder. This will be measured by all stakeholders following the school’s policy and procedures regarding bullying, harassment and behaviour and decreasing rates of reporting on internal blue incident forms.

  6. To maintain positive partnerships with parents, carers and the wider community and encourage participation in the school community.  This will be measured by feedback received from parents, carers, the wider community and rates of attendance at school events.
